Cliffs of Moher
Cliffs of Moher day tour
The Cliffs of Moher are located in the west of Ireland, in County Clare and stretched in distance of 8 km of steep and picturesque cliff coast.
In the highest point the Cliffs of Moher rise over 200 meters above the surface of the ocean. The Cliffs of Moher are considered as one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. Each year, they are visited by over a million tourists. In connection with the strong winds blowing at the Cliffs, special safe routes have been marked out here, because there have been cases of blowing out tourists to the ocean. In good weather with good visibility from the cliffs, you can see the Aran Islands and the Galway Bay. An additional attraction of the cliffs is the stone tower erected in the 19th century (O’Brien’s Tower), which is an ideal observation point. In 2007, the modern Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience was opened. Its construction lasted nearly 17 years and consumed over 30 million euros. It has been perfectly integrated into the hill. It is powered only by geothermal and solar energy. The center has a didactic character and gives a lot of informations. In addition, there are numerous souvenir shops and restaurants.
